Why Proper Labeling Matters for FBA Success
In Amazon’s massive logistics network, FBA labels are crucial for efficient, accurate processing. Correct labeling speeds up inbound and outbound flows, reduces fulfillment errors, and enhances customer experience—especially during receiving and stocking.
Types of Amazon FBA Labels
1. FBA Product Barcode
- Identifies each unit for Amazon’s inventory system.
- Can use manufacturer barcodes (UPC, ISBN, EAN, GTIN‑12, ASIN) if present.
- If none exist, use Amazon-generated labels (ASIN or FNSKU).
- Ensure labels cover all visible barcodes (except serial or Transparency tags) and are affixed externally.
2. Shipping (Box) Label
- Used for pallets or cartons.
- Generated during “Send to Amazon” shipping plan creation.
- Contains box-level details: product names, quantities, shipping origin, UPC/ASIN/P/N, FBA box ID.
- Different formats apply for SPD (small parcel) vs. LTL/FTL shipments.

- Include both Amazon FBA box ID and carrier label (UPS, FedEx, etc.) visibly.
